Thanks to Oneblood for coming out for a blood donation drive at our offices. I was happy to provide a “double red blood cell” donation . This is a neat process called apheresis. The apheresis machine cycles blood from your body and extracts the red blood cell using a centrifugal process, and replaces the depleted blood back in body along with saline solution. This process is repeated several times, and produces a larger amount of red blood cells for transfusion. #blooddonation #technology #community
